Are green detergents really as effective?
In short, the answer is yes for smells, but not necessarily for stains.
The best natural laundry detergent will get rid of the stench from your favorite work out gear, but it won't remove that yellow/greyish color left behind by the sweat on your favorite light-colored apparel, which we all hate so much. So what are the go-to laundry supplies used for this purpose? Well of course everyone knows about all-green detergents. But let's face it, they just don't wash away the odor left behind after a long day of working from home in your yoga clothes AND that dreaded yellow color from makeup on the neck of your shirt and sweat stains from hitting the gym after.
Eco-friendly laundry supplies and detergents such as No Sweat target biological substances that create odor such as sweat, urine, food etc. But the fact is, to remove a tough, non-biological stain in your laundry, you need to use a more potent spray applied directly on the stain, in ADDITION to using an eco-friendly detergent such as No Sweat in your washer. It's ok the mix the two. But remember that the water from your washing machine goes directly back into the soil in the ground, so it's important to reduce your impact on the environment by using the best natural laundry detergent you can while still achieving the results you need.
